Yeah...didn't move much from in-front of the air-con on those days. Our top temp was only around 41 degrees C where I live. Not many people brave the middle of Australia's deserts. The bush fires reached about 20 kms to the NW and about 15 kms to the south.

You pick the argument being made from a search engine and then start reading, they generally produce a basic, intermediate and an advanced level explanation of the science and then direct you to the relevant studies. Really useful resource.
